(Adnkronos) – Cambiano le automobili e cambiano anche i test per valutare il loro livello di sicurezza, anche in considerazione dei pericoli posti – per i modelli elettrici – dai rischi connessi alla presenza delle batterie. Per questo, dopo le critiche rivolte a un sistema che in pratica garantiva una 'uniformità' di riconoscimenti delle 5 stelle, Euro Ncap ha annunciato "importanti modifiche" – le più profonde da quando è stato introdotto nel 2009 il nuovo sistema di giudizio – ai criteri di valutazione dei modelli per rappresentare meglio le moderne condizioni di guida e affrontare i pericoli a cui sono esposti conducenti, passeggeri e altri utenti della strada. Primo di una revisione che sarà condotta ogni tre anni, l'aggiornamento entrerà in vigore nel 2026 e prevede un adeguamento delle procedure di test e punteggio dei veicoli, insieme a una nuova metodologia di valutazione basata su quattro fasi chiave della sicurezza: guida sicura, prevenzione degli incidenti, protezione dagli incidenti e sicurezza post-incidente. Il nuovo approccio – che secondo EuroNcap offrirà maggiore struttura, chiarezza e flessibilità – testa le tecnologie di sicurezza per fasi, ma consente anche la valutazione di quelle soluzioni che operano su più fasi, in un momento in cui le tecnologie di sicurezza diventano sempre più complesse e interconnesse.  In dettaglio dal prossimo anno le valutazioni Euro Ncap saranno strutturate in quattro Fasi di Sicurezza, ciascuna con un punteggio su 100 ed espressa in percentuale. Per ogni fase continueranno ad applicarsi delle soglie minime che determineranno il punteggio complessivo in stelle. La prima fase 'Guida Sicura' valuterà le tecnologie e le caratteristiche del veicolo che contribuiscono a garantire un'esperienza di guida più sicura per il conducente e gli occupanti, con l'assegnazione di punti ai sistemi avanzati che monitorano le prestazioni del guidatore in tempo reale con un 'premio a quei dispositivi che non solo solo utilizzano il tracciamento continuo di occhi e testa, ma anche collegano le informazioni sullo stato del conducente alla sensibilità dei sistemi di assistenza alla guida. Un punteggio aggiuntivo sarà assegnato alle tecnologie capaci di identificare segnali di alterazione da droghe o alcol e a quelle in grado di arrestare il veicolo in sicurezza se il conducente perde conoscenza. Per la prima volta, la verifica dell'accuratezza delle informazioni sui limiti di velocità verrà effettuata durante i test di guida su strada.
 La seconda 'Prevenzione degli Incidenti' giudicherà i sistemi di prevenzione degli incidenti che aiutano a prevenire o mitigare gli incidenti critici tramite avvisi o interventi autonomi. I protocolli aggiornati introducono un approccio più rigoroso ai test dei sistemi di prevenzione degli incidenti, che includono tecnologie come la Frenata Autonoma di Emergenza e i sistemi di Mantenimento della Corsia. Saranno inoltre ampliati gli scenari per riflettere modelli di incidenti reali, comprese le situazioni urbane in cui i veicoli incontrano abitualmente veicoli a due ruote, ciclisti e pedoni. La fluidità e l'intuitività del funzionamento nella guida quotidiana contribuiranno ora all'assegnazione del punteggio. Verranno premiate anche le auto in grado di riconoscere e ridurre i rischi di un'errata applicazione del pedale (ad esempio se si schiaccia per sbaglio l'acceleratore invece del freno). Questo sarà valutato nell'ambito dei nuovi test "Collisioni a Bassa Velocità", che includono anche il sistema di apertura delle portiere per i ciclisti. 
'Protezione dagli Incidenti' metterà sotto esame le prestazioni dei tradizionali elementi di protezione dagli urti: in questa fase verrà aggiornato e migliorato il programma di crash test con una rinnovata attenzione alla protezione passiva valutando una gamma più ampia di tipologie di corporatura di conducenti e passeggeri, inclusi anziani e bambini, con il supporto di test su slitta e simulazioni virtuali avanzate. La valutazione della protezione dagli impatti laterali includerà test su barriera sul lato vicino, palo e slitta sul lato lontano, anch'essi supportati da simulazioni virtuali avanzate. Inoltre verrà intensificato il controllo del rischio di lesioni per i pedoni, in particolare nelle aree strutturali attorno al parabrezza. Infine l'ultima fase 'Sicurezza Post-Incidente' affronta la risposta alle emergenze attraverso sistemi di assistenza e informazione post-incidente. I nuovi requisiti post-impatto includono la garanzia che le maniglie esterne delle portiere elettriche rimangano funzionanti dopo un impatto, consentendo un più facile accesso ai primi soccorritori. I veicoli elettrici devono anche gestire correttamente l'isolamento della batteria ad alto voltaggio. Le notifiche di emergenza automatiche dovranno fornire dettagli sul numero di occupanti del veicolo, richiedendo un rilevamento affidabile anche quando le cinture di sicurezza non sono allacciate. Con l'avvento dei veicoli elettrici, spiega EuroNcap, le auto devono essere in grado di comunicare al conducente il rischio di incendio della batteria dopo un incidente e di emettere un avviso tempestivo se l'incendio della batteria si verifica durante la ricarica o dopo un incidente.
