(Adnkronos) – WhatsApp e Telegram silenziati in guerra. Il regime dell'Iran ha chiesto ai cittadini di non usare WhatsApp e Telegram ed altre "applicazioni basate sulla localizzazione", affermando che questo è "uno dei metodi principali di Israele per identificare e colpire individui" nel conflitto corso da quasi 6 giorni. Lo riporta l'agenzia statale iraniana Irib, facendo riferimento "ai recenti assassinii mirati, compresi quelli di scienziati" e sottolineando che rapporti indicano che "il regime israeliano usa i cellulari per localizzare le persone da colpire in Iran".  Quindi l'esortazione non è solo a non usare queste app, ma anche a spegnere i cellulari prima di spostarsi ed evitare di "portarli in luoghi sensibili", riporta ancora l'agenzia citata dalla Cnn.  WhatsApp è preoccupata per la linea scelta da Teheran. "Siamo preoccupati che queste false segnalazioni possano essere una scusa per bloccare i nostri servizi proprio nel momento in cui le persone ne hanno più bisogno", ha dichiarato un portavoce di WhatsApp. Il portavoce ha sottolineato che WhatsApp non traccia la posizione esatta degli utenti e che tutti i messaggi sono crittografati end-to-end. "Tutti i messaggi inviati a familiari e amici su WhatsApp sono crittografati end-to-end: nessuno, tranne il mittente e il destinatario, ha accesso a tali messaggi, nemmeno WhatsApp. Non tracciamo la posizione esatta, non teniamo registri dei messaggi inviati e non tracciamo i messaggi personali che le persone si scambiano", ha proseguito il portavoce. "Non forniamo informazioni in blocco ad alcun governo. er oltre un decennio, Meta ha fornito report di trasparenza coerenti che includono le circostanze limitate in cui sono state richieste informazioni su WhatsApp". —internazionale/esteriwebinfo@adnkronos.com (Web Info)
